I Can't

I can laugh

Oh I can cry

I’ll float

I’ll die

i can climb

oh I can stroll

I’ll stop time

I’ll mind control

But what  I can’t

Do for you

Is forget

My love for you

Oh you’ll always

be in my heart

Dwindling and building

Parting and dwelling

Oh you’ll always

Be in my heart

Marring and mending

Tainting and changing

I can soar

Oh I can dive

I’ll open doors

I’ll cross the sky

i can write

oh I can play

I’ll try

I’ll say

But what  I can’t

Do for you

Is forget

My love for you

Oh you’ll always

be in my heart

Dwindling and building

Parting and dwelling

Oh you’ll always

Be in my heart

Marring and mending

Tainting and changing

But what I can’t

Do for you

Is forget

My love for you

Is true

My love for you is true

My love for you is true

often...

often i wish i were someone else
living in a world somewhere else
living with people other than present

often i imagine myself being someone else
someone strong, powerful and needed
someone loved by all, someone not doubted

often i dream of being with someone
whom i don't know
whom i've never met

often i just want to fade away
hide from everything real
hide from my own life

Sweet Slumber

my time has come
to leave you once more
the stillness of the night
preventing me to disturb your sweet slumber...

I Used To Be

i used to be a lonely heart
but now i've found your eyes, your smile
your light shines through my sky to the empty plains of my heart
your water flows down my river so great
and now i'm singing this song for you my love
for you to know what i'm feeling deep inside
i love you, yes i do, ever since
you offered me warmth on that cold gloomy day
i used to be silent as the trees
by now my voice resonates like the piano
your presence tingles my soul until the break of dawn
your words keep my mind tick like a clock
i used to be shy around you
but now i'm spilling all to you, my love
i love you, yes i do, ever since
you held me in your arms so close to dance
i used to be a lonely heart
but now i've found your eyes, your smile
i hope you never go tired of me singing
i want you near always staring into my eyes
i love you, yes i do, ever since
you offered me warmth on that cold gloomy day
i love you, yes i do, ever since
you held me in your arms so close to dance
i used to be a lonely heart
but now i've found your eyes, your smile

5th Day of Community (June 21-23, 2007)

i made a poem to express my experiences during those three days of Community Duty

our long journey on the 21st
started a while after
the rise of his majesty

we ventured into
a new chariot
waiting for it to gallop

we left not so early
but not so late either
we were on our way to another adventure

truly so far away
but near our hearts
our dear Pito, here we come

we passed by that dam again
so majestic, so breath taking
so not a great place to be clumsy

we arrived and rested
rested some more then ate
then the true journey begins

we were tasked to go lower
to Lower Pilpiloy that is
but we wanted to do more

we walked and skipped
knocked on some doors
spoke to a few

we knocked on more doors
but to no avail
until we reached the boundary

now we have bragging rights!
we reached Nueva Vizcaya
by just walking!

after that, we called it a day
but alas! we decided to knock some more
and then we found our "family"

they were so nice
we were so happy
but we had to go back home

we promised them we'll return
and we did the next day
but first we had to go to school

after that we went for them
but only Clinton was there
so we decided to return at dusk

oh dear, i forgot
our journey to Namuod
that was on the 22nd

it was nice there
quite away
but a lot of fun

back to the family
we went around dust
it was dark, there was no light

we did what not
we gathered a lot
then we went back home

the next day we aimed to go back
but on the way, we ran into "Dad"
he told us no one was home

so we went back to our staff house
prepared ourselves
checked out some plants

cleaned some
looked some
chatted some

we left early for Baguios is
were here early
went to the Library to read some, talk some, write some

tiring it always is
fulfilling so much
looking forward for more

2ND DAY OF COMMUNITY...

...Tarzan and Jane were swingin' on a vineCandyman, CandymanSippin' from a bottle of vodka double wineSweet sugar candy man...
These were the first words we heard on that day. it was the 16th of June. we all woke up early partly because we were excited to go home but mostly because some were to prepare breakfast and the rest of us to fix our "cabin" and ourselves for the ocular survey of the near by sitios and to meet as many key persons possible.
We started on our hike at 7:00 in the morning. it was such a beautiful day. the view was impecable, the air crisp and the soil, kinda moist. we started walking up the mountains carrying backpacks, long umbrellas, and, to four of us, bulky OB bags.
Everything went perfectly fine until i slipped and landed on my butt. the puppy which was coming close even "screamed" and ran away. Tal broadcasted to everyone what happened and i was so embarrassed until i thought to myself "This was bound to happed to anyone. the anyone just happened to be me."
After that tiny glitch nothing bad happened. everything was on the good side. we went on taking the blood pressure of some of the residents of the area and some of the workers making the highway. we decided to go home at about 9:30 to fix our things and to cook lunch before we go back to Baguio. we were offered a free ride by the men whom we checked for their blood pressure so we took the offer. we thanked the driver (who's name i think is Danilo or something near that name) then we went back to the staff house to fix our things.
i did not do much because i already prepared everything before we left so, i stuck around the kitchen offering my help to wherever i'm needed. Mr. Jeepney Driver (i think his name is Elias) [ i really can't remember names quickly but faces i do well] arrived before we had lunch so he joined in when we ate.
we left Pito a little after 1:30 pm and travelled without any untoward events, savouring the scenery and remembering the exact spots where we had our flat tires. It was sunny most of the trip but when we were already close to Baguio, it started to rain. We even saw a rainbow.
we arrived in Baguio before 5:00pm. some of us left the jeep before we arrived at school. even our teacher left before arriving at SLU. we, MJ, Tal, Val, Jeng, Jhaveh, Debran, Felisa, Jannor and moi asked Mr. Jeepney Driver to go up Main Gate and enter the school. that was when another "accident" happened. One of the back doors of the jeepney cannot be closed and Tal was seated at the seat nearest this door. when we mounted on the driveway which was quite steep, Tal failed to hold on. She almost fell off the jeep. it was a good thing, but really painful, that one of her legs got stuck at the locked door. those close her, Jeng and Debran pulled her up aboard the jeep, in pain and shock.
All of us were kind of embarrassed to go down the jeep because we were messed up. our hair was everywhere, shoes muddy and clothes dusty. but, we had to because we all had to go to the toilet to do our business, take a long bath and sleep. we all needed sleep, well, maybe not as much as Jhaveh who slept the entire trip back to Baguio.

1ST DAY OF COMMUNITY DUTY

It was June 15, 2007 when i was awakened by my phone's alarm clock at exactly 4:15 in the morning. i wanted to sleep more so i did but at 4:30, MJ called me up, probably just to wake me up because he only let my phone ring twice. then, i fixed the things i might have forgotten to pack the day before in my travelling bag and i took a long bath. it took me about an hour to fix myself and my things. this was a very important day after all--it was the first day of our community exposure.
I left the house at exactly 6:00 in the morning and arrived at our meeting place (SLU Gate 4) at about 6:10. due to the early time, there was no traffic. three of my group mates were already there when i arrived, Susana, Debran, and to my surprise, Apok (he was usually the late comer or the one missing during meetings). all of us arrivedbefore 6:30 because we knew that our travel time would be 7:00.
We sent a message to our CI asking where the vehicle we were supposed to ride in was and where she was also because we were already running late. we were then approached by the jeepney driver of the other group then gave us the contact number of one of his driver friends who used to service previous students when he found out that we were to ride a van.
The van and our teacher arrived at about 8:00 in the morning then we all decided that the van is just not enough for us and all our baggage so we contacted the jeepney driver who used to service the previous students. while doing so, ma'am Tabin, an MCN, arrived. she was to be our tour guide to the community we were going to--Pito, Bokod, Benguet. the new ride,, a jeepney, arrived at about 8:40 and we left at about 9:00 after loading our baggages and ourselves inside the jeep.
We had several pit stops. first to fill up the gas tank of our vehicle at Pacdal. next along ambuklao road to fill our stomachs. then, again along the river still at ambuklao road because we had a flat tire. that was about 10:30 am. after an hour and a dam, the spare tire went flat so we borrowed the spare tire of the jeepney of F1 which was behind us. after two flat tires, at 12:00nn, we ate lunch then at 12:30, we continued on our journey. we arrived at the Municipal Hall a few minutes later to conduct a courtesy call. we met the med tech at the Health Office. we then walked to the Mayor's Office but we learned that he was in Cebu. so, we just said "hi" to his staff. after the courtesy call and picture taking, F1 and A1 (our group) parted because our communities were at opposite directions.
We conducted a preliminary ocular survey of the area (Ma'am Tabin pointed out the different Sitios while we were on the road to the staff house). the sitios were literally mountains and a river apart. but, at least the view was breath taking. we had to stop at the meeting place of some Kagawads to get the keys to the place where we will stay.
We arrived at our destination at about 4:30pm. we were helped by children to unload our baggages. we thanked them by giving them pulvoron. they enjoyed them so much but sadly, we had to stop giving because we did not want to spoil them. then, we started to clean the dust covered staff house and barangay hall. our cleaning was interrupted when we had to meet the barangay midwife, Mrs. Hilario. after the meeting, we continued on cleaning. some of us started preparing for dinner when they found out that our double burner stove was defective and that the hose connecting it to the gas tank was missing a part. this problem was solved when one of the men building the soon-to-be-finished CR made it work. after doing so, Ma'am Tabin opened the kitchen. we found out that there was a double burner inside. so, for safety purposes, we borrowed it and connected it to our gas tank. while they were cooking, the rest of us took a bath, two at a time to save time. we were all done taking a bath by 7:00. and since the food was not ready yet, we fixed the sleeping blankets we were to sleep on. the cooking was finished at about 8:00. we ate dinner and finished at about 9:00 and had our first meeting until 11:00pm. we all slept at almost 12:00am knowing that we would start the next day at 4:30am.
