These were the first words we heard on that day. it was the 16th of June. we all woke up early partly because we were excited to go home but mostly because some were to prepare breakfast and the rest of us to fix our "cabin" and ourselves for the ocular survey of the near by sitios and to meet as many key persons possible.
We started on our hike at 7:00 in the morning. it was such a beautiful day. the view was impecable, the air crisp and the soil, kinda moist. we started walking up the mountains carrying backpacks, long umbrellas, and, to four of us, bulky OB bags.
Everything went perfectly fine until i slipped and landed on my butt. the puppy which was coming close even "screamed" and ran away. Tal broadcasted to everyone what happened and i was so embarrassed until i thought to myself "This was bound to happed to anyone. the anyone just happened to be me."
After that tiny glitch nothing bad happened. everything was on the good side. we went on taking the blood pressure of some of the residents of the area and some of the workers making the highway. we decided to go home at about 9:30 to fix our things and to cook lunch before we go back to Baguio. we were offered a free ride by the men whom we checked for their blood pressure so we took the offer. we thanked the driver (who's name i think is Danilo or something near that name) then we went back to the staff house to fix our things.
i did not do much because i already prepared everything before we left so, i stuck around the kitchen offering my help to wherever i'm needed. Mr. Jeepney Driver (i think his name is Elias) [ i really can't remember names quickly but faces i do well] arrived before we had lunch so he joined in when we ate.
we left Pito a little after 1:30 pm and travelled without any untoward events, savouring the scenery and remembering the exact spots where we had our flat tires. It was sunny most of the trip but when we were already close to Baguio, it started to rain. We even saw a rainbow.
we arrived in Baguio before 5:00pm. some of us left the jeep before we arrived at school. even our teacher left before arriving at SLU. we, MJ, Tal, Val, Jeng, Jhaveh, Debran, Felisa, Jannor and moi asked Mr. Jeepney Driver to go up Main Gate and enter the school. that was when another "accident" happened. One of the back doors of the jeepney cannot be closed and Tal was seated at the seat nearest this door. when we mounted on the driveway which was quite steep, Tal failed to hold on. She almost fell off the jeep. it was a good thing, but really painful, that one of her legs got stuck at the locked door. those close her, Jeng and Debran pulled her up aboard the jeep, in pain and shock.
All of us were kind of embarrassed to go down the jeep because we were messed up. our hair was everywhere, shoes muddy and clothes dusty. but, we had to because we all had to go to the toilet to do our business, take a long bath and sleep. we all needed sleep, well, maybe not as much as Jhaveh who slept the entire trip back to Baguio.
